Dog jumping in air

FAQ

What do I need to check in?

Please bring vaccination records, any medications, food, emergency contact numbers and any personal items. We prefer that you do not bring personal items as we cannot guarantee their condition upon check-out. K9s Only is not responsible for lost or misplaced personal belongings. We ask that for your pet’s safety, do not bring any glass or ceramic items.

What Vaccines Are Required?

All dogs must be current on vaccinations and in good health. If your dog appears to exhibit symptoms of illness at the time of check-in, we will be unable to accept the dog for boarding. Prior to a pet's arrival, K9s Only must have a formal vaccination record from a licensed veterinarian indicating that your pet is up-to-date on the following vaccinations:

  • Rabies

  • DHLPP

  • Bordetella

  • Both H3N2 & H3N8 Strains of Canine Influenza

  • Leptospirosis (required starting 12/1/21)

Per Los Angeles Animal Services Kennel Permit Standards, failure to comply with these standards will be cause for revocation of K9s Only’s permit to operate. Therefore, please make sure that your vet sends us your dog’s vaccination records prior to their arrival at our facility.

Can I bring my own food?

YES and we highly encourage it! The best thing for the health of your pet is to stay on their regular diet. Changing your dog’s diet may result in an upset stomach while staying at K9s Only. If you bring food for your pet from home, we ask that you pre-bag the appropriate amount of food for your stay. We offer a premium diet of Diamond Natural, or a home-cooked meal available for your convenience, should you run out or feed the same food at home, at an additional cost.

What if my pet needs veterinary care while staying at K9’s Only?

If your pet needs veterinary care during his or her stay, K9s Only will try to consult with your pet’s primary veterinarian. If this is not possible, we work with several local veterinarians to resolve any medical situation that may arise. At K9s Only, our goal is to be the best place for your pet when they aren’t at home, and that means ensuring a happy, healthy and safe environment. We are pleased to offer the K9s Only Health Care Commitment Program, in which K9s Only will reimburse you up to $500 for any eligible expenses incurred while your pet is at our resort receiving boarding, daycare, training and/or grooming services. When you bring your pet to K9s Only, you are automatically enrolled in this program and will be eligible to receive this reimbursement for any treatment or diagnosis provided by your licensed veterinarian for any incident that occurred during your pet’s stay or up to 5 days after their departure. For more details regarding the program and to sign the Health Care Commitment, please contact the resort.
